    Christie DS+5K/5Kc/8K, Mirage S+2K/4K/8K, DW3K/6K, Matrix 4000 and DLV1400-DX are all professi
onal 3-chip projectors based on next-generation Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology by T
exas Instruments to deliver high quality, crisp, clean images. Mirage S+2K/4K/8K projectors pr
ovide a powerful combination of SXGA+ resolution, high brightness and high contrast ratios to
produce flawless, realistic threedimensional graphic images for simulation, virtual reality an
d other stereographic related applications. The DW3K and DW6K provide exceptional image qualit
y in a native widescreen format, HD2 resolution and superior color accuracy. Also a reliable a
nd compact SXGA+ projector is the Matrix 4000. With its purpose built simulation features such
as RGB color matching, and gamma controls, it can be used to simulate any application. The DL
V1400-DX is designed for the demands of 24/7 control room applications and provides long-term
reliability and performance. Native SXGA+ or HD2 resolution (model d

    Section 1: Introduction
How the projector works ' The projector accepts data/graphics and video input signals for proj
ection onto front or rear flat screens. High brightness light is generated by an internal Xeno
n lamp then modulated by three DMD (digital micromirror device) panels that provide digitized
red, green or blue color information. Light from the "on" pixels of each panel is reflected, c
onverged and then projected to the screen through a single front lens, where all pixels are pe
rfectly superimposed as a sharp full-color image (2D or 3D for Mirage models only).
